Teams…
Southern Country Charlotte is looking for dance
teams to perform at this year’s STOMP. The
exhibitions are open to any team or couple looking
to showcase their talent. Space is limited, so
register early, as performance will be accepted on a
first-come, first-served basis. If interested, click

Don Curran
SCC is excited to once again bring to Charlotte Don Curran, who
comes all the way from Houston, TX to teach couples
dance workshops. Don has been dancing since
1996 and began teaching in 1998. In 2003, he
competed and won his division at the Texas Gay Rodeo
in couples dancing. Don is also the founding
member of "The Heart of Texas Hoedowners" in Austin
Texas which is a sister IAGLWCDC club of Southern
Country Charlotte. He has been choreographing
line dances for the past couple of years and has
recently started doing performance team
choreography/coaching for a local Austin group.
Don is preparing to complete in the Pro-Am Swing
circuit in the near future. |
Scott Schrank
Choreographer, Scott Schrank,
a good friend of SCC, is returning to the list of fabulous instructors this year.
Scott has been dancing for 8 years and is also a
member of Southern Line Atlanta. Scott's
choreography won 1st place in recent Choreographer
Competition in Ft. Wayne, Indiana and Las Vegas, NV. You can visit his website

Pepper Sharpe
Also a good
friend of SCC, Pepper has been dancing since
2000, and has been teaching beginner and
intermediate line dancing since 2003. Pepper’s
greatest personal dance accomplishments were
winning 1st place in two Intermediate Line
Dances, as well taking the Intermediate Overall
Line Dance Competition in Va. Beach in 2001 .
In addition, she performs with Southern Line
Atlanta, winners of both the Cabaret Division
and Overall Dance Team Competition in Montreal
Canada. Pepper is certified by NTA in Dance
Fundamentals I & II , and currently runs a
bi-monthly line dance-a-thon that attracts
people from all over GA., TN, AL, SC and NC. |

Kenneth Davis
Kenneth Davis joined Southern Country Charlotte
(SCC) in 1993, and became a member of SCC’s
exhibition dance team, the Queen City Outlaws.
He has been a member of SCC and the Outlaws for
almost fifteen years, and has been Southern
Country Charlotte's longest running Dance
Instructor during that time. He continues to
teach line and couples dance weekly for SCC’s
home bar, the Charlotte Eagle as well as at
various functions in the community. Kenneth’s
enthusiasm, knowledge and patience have earned
him a loyal and enthusiastic following,
encouraging many shy folks to get out on the
dance floor and try country dancing for the
first time.

Cooper & Dawn Rickus
Scott Cooper joins the list of fabulous dance
instructors for the second year in a row. Scott is a
former musical theatre actor that relocated from
Manhattan to Charlotte in
1997. Since then he has
taught ballroom and was the founder of the Havana Social
Club in Cornelius. He is the current owner of Evolution
Models and Talent in Charlotte. Scott can often be seen
demonstrating his expertise in east coast swing at The
Charlotte Eagle on country nights.
Dawn Rickus has been a professional performer for most
of her life. She danced for Paramount Productions for
several years, and has done numerous stage performances
throughout the country. She previously was an instructor
for the Havana Social Club in Huntersville teaching
ballroom dance, and is now the owner of Extreme Talent
Productions in Gaston County which develops young up and
coming singers, dancers, actors and models.

Josh Zuckerman
Southern
Country Charlotte and The Charlotte Eagle are
pleased to bring present Josh Zuckerman to
Charlotte. Josh is a singer, songwriter,
and musician from New Jersey.
